Going separate ways can be very scary and a daunting process, as you don’t know what you don’t.  Everyone has horror stories of being ‘ripped off’.  “Everything was going fine until the lawyers get involved’.

Understanding the process and doing as much of the work yourself before you engage with the legal system can help save you time, money and stress.

I see my role in this stage of your journey as part educational, part emotional support, part coaching, and part number crunching.  I bring my skills as an accountant.  My training in psychology, and behavioural economics.  As well as my own life experience to the role, to help you understand your financial position and work through the process and options with you.

This includes:

  • Putting money plans (budgets) in place, when you are going from one household to two
  • Helping to compile and provide the relevant disclosure documents, and explaining what disclosure documents are!
  • Helping put together your assets and liabilities to getting a starting point of the net asset position for division.
  • Working towards your financial needs moving forwards as two individuals.

My main goal is to be part of the team who support your to end your relationship financially and emotionally intact.  I have been working in the Relationship Property space for over 10 years.  I’ve seen the emotional highs and lows. I understand the process, and how my role fits.

My skill set is somewhat unique combining accounting with psychology of money and coaching.  I am completely independent.  I am non-judgemental, and I can work with both partners either separately or together.

I also have a network of other specialists that we can tap into as and when you need them.
